- 2 steaks ribeye or fillet mignon (2 @ approximately 6 ounces each)
- 1 tbsp butter
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ cup grated Mahon Menorca Cured Cheese
- 2 tbsp finely chopped walnuts
- 3 slices bacon cooked and finely chopped
Preheat oven to 375 F (191 C). Add chopped walnuts to a lined baking sheet. Bake walnuts for 5 to 6 minutes until lightly toasted. Removed and set aside.
In a small bowl combine: garlic powder, sea salt, paprika, black pepper, and onion powder. Stir together.
Rub both sides of each steak with the seasoning mix.
Heat a pan on stove top to medium high heat and add butter. Sear steaks in pan for 5 to 8 minutes on each side (for medium rare to medium), or longer or shorter depending on preference and thickness of steaks. Remove from pan to let steak rest. As soon as steak is removed from pan add grated cheese to the tops of each steak (*steak must rest for 5 minutes before cutting). Sprinkle with toasted walnuts and chopped cooked bacon crumbles.
After steak rests and cheese is starting to melt, serve.
