Instant Pot Country Style Ribs in bbq saucePin

It is super simple to make saucy, tender, juicy ribs in the Instant Pot and without a grill or the mess.

These ribs are country-style, boneless and you can eat them with a fork. But if you're like my teenage son, then you still eat them with your hands and get sauce all over your face, lol.

The recipe includes my favorite homemade low carb BBQ sauce recipe, but you can use a store bought low carb BBQ sauce if you prefer also.

These were even easier to make and much faster than my slow cooker recipe for ribs.

I made an easy-to-follow recipe video below.

I baked country ribs in the oven, and they were still tough after baking for 3 hours! I was using your recipe for the BBQ sauce, so I decided to try transferring the ribs and juices to the instant pot for 15 minutes with 15 minutes of natural pressure release. Like magic, the ribs tenderized and the dish was a huge hit with my family. Thank you for saving the day!

Hannah, I'm so glad it saved the ribs. I find that using the IP is easier than baking the ribs and you can always put them in the broiler for a couple of minutes after pressure cooking to brown if you want to.

This recipe was so good! I've made country ribs in the instant pot before, but they did not come out this tender! Unfortunately I did not have all the ingredients to make your BBQ sauce, but I am looking forward to it next time. I used the sugar free sauce I already at home. I just ate some leftovers and they are still as good as the day I made them. Thank you!

This is the second time I've made this recipe with minimal substitutions based on what I had on hand and it's so good! The meat is fall apart tender, incredibly flavorable, and the BBQ sauce is a quick & delicious addition. I saved all the beef broth goodness in my instant pot for a some soup or stew.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipe. I seldom cook but craved for ribs, which I just usually order. Since restaurants are closed/limited capacity, I tried to cook at home and followed your recipe. I can't believe it tastes really good! Restaurant-quality! Cravings satisfied and your recipe is now part of my collection. I can't imagine how much will I save from ordering versus cooking one of my favorite food!

Or you can ball up some aluminum foil and pile it high enough to keep meat from laying in broth. Also a foil pie or cake pan turned upside down with holes poked into it. Both work like a charm!

This recipe is for 2 lbs of ribs and I have 3.5 pounds. Should I just increase all the ingredients by 1 1/2? And how much extra time should I do to accommodate the extra 1 1/2 pounds? So excited to try these tomorrow!

Hi Stacey, I don't think you would have to increase any sauce ingredients or the amount of liquid in the IP. You would possibly need to increase the rub seasonings by 1 to 1 1/2. The time might need to be increased by a couple of minutes more. I would try adding 2 or 3 minutes to the cooking time.

Hi! I was all set to make these when I realized I had no tomato sauce for the bbq. I subbed the tomato sauce, molasses, and sweetener with half a cup of G Hughes’ sugar free ketchup mixed with half cup of water. The bbq sauce was amazing!!

Thank you for such a fantastic low-carb BBQ sauce recipe. Can you please break out the carb count just for the sauce? Maybe put it as a separate sauce recipe on your site? Because I'd pretty much like to put it on everything I grill and it deserves to stand alone as a recipe. I've made several other low carb BBQ sauce recipes that were not very good, and even got thrown out, but this is a keeper as it tastes like "normal" BBQ sauce:) I did add the teaspoon of molasses - maybe that's what made it taste authentic. For the keto police out there, one teaspoon of molasses adds less than 5 carbs to the overall recipe, and it has iron and a bunch of other trace minerals in it.

Yes, you make without the sauce, but not without the broth (IP needs the liquid). You can use the bone-in ribs as well as long as they fit in the pot (baby-back, most likely will fit). I usually put them upright and bend in a circle on the rack. You may want to add 3 to 5 extra minutes to the cook time for bone-in.

The last time I made ribs, it took forever, but what a great idea to use the Instant Pot!

I know, Kari, I usually make them in the slow cooker and it does take awhile!

These totally look like dinner! Your BBQ sauce and that smoked paprika, the fall apart meat and quick cooking process... definitely need to make this for my family!
