Keto Blackberry Cheese Danish Turnovers-
Keto Blackberry Cheese Danish Turnovers are low carb, gluten-free, and grain-free.
These Keto Blackberry Cheese Danish Turnovers are low carb, gluten free, grain free and surprisingly simple to make and they taste oh so good!
A crisp outer cheese shell with sweet cream cheese and blackberry filling and sprinkled with low carb powdered sweetener.
The best part of making these turnovers is that I did not need to make or fiddle with any tricky low carb pie crust or dough.
My kids and hubby loved these sweet and yummy morsels even though my son is not a fan of blackberries.
He was surprised as he thought they would not be his cup of tea at all, but he loved the turnovers and especially the filling.
Even though the berries I purchased, although lovely looking with brilliant colors, was somewhat sour and not ripe at all, the sweet, creamy filling made them taste yummy anyway.
Next time if berries are not in season, I will buy frozen.
So, the next time I make these, I will try blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or a sugar-free version of “Nutella” in the filling. Recipe & printable recipe card is below the photos and toward the bottom of the post.

- 6 Mozzarella cheese slices or Monterey Jack cheese slices
- 12 blackberries
- ⅓ cup cream cheese softened
- ½ tbsp heavy cream
- ½ tablespoon sour cream
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoon powdered Swerve confectioners sweetener, divided
Recommended Products:
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375℉ (190℃) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet.
- Using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer with mixing bowl to mix: cream cheese, heavy cream, sour cream, lemon juice, and 1 ½ tablespoon of the powdered sweetener. Mix until combined and creamy. Set aside.
- Arrange cheese slices on parchment paper and bake for 3 to 6 minutes, or until the edges of cheese start to brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 1 to 2 minutes (leave the oven on)
- Add 2 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture to the middle of a corner of each cheese slice and place 2 berries on top. Fold cheese over making a triangle shape and press the outer edges with a fork to seal.
- Return the baking sheet with turnovers back into the 375℉ (190℃) oven and bake for 2 minutes more, just to warm the filling in the center and seal the edges. Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute or two.
- Sprinkle the turnovers with the 1 ½ tablespoon remaining powdered sweetener. Serve and enjoy!

That is so clever how you made the turnovers! When I first saw the picture, I thought it was a very delicate pastry dough. A very interesting twist and beautiful looking dessert!

These r absolutely delicious 😉
Stacey says
Thank you, Janet, for trying the recipe and for your kind words.
Krystal says
I used Gruyere cheese and no sugar and they still turned out great! I also used a regular baking sheet and greased it with a tiny bit of butter... no problems! I am looking forward to trying these with mozzarella in the very near future. Thank you for the wonderful recipe.
Stacey says
Thank you, Krystal, for trying the recipe and for sharing your tips 🙂
Linda says
Does not work on parchment paper. Cheese sticks to paper.
Stacey says
Linda, you need to let the cheese cool until it can be peeled and lifted from the paper.
Jennie Esterly says
Linda, be sure you didn't use WAX paper. That's a mistake I've made before. The wax melts, and sticks to everything. What a mess. Parchment paper is perfect. 🙂

I don’t have mozzarella but I do have some Lacy Swiss I’m going to try. Hubby at the store getting us some blackberries. I’ll update it with a picture if that’s permissible. I’m so excited!
Stacey says
Debbie, Thank you for trying the recipe & I think Swiss will work out (might have more holes, though). I don't think my WordPress comment platform allows pictures, but you can post on FB or IG and tag me.
Teresa says
Do they re-heat well? I bought the ingredients today, can't wait to make them. I am making them with blueberries..
Stacey says
Yes, Teresa, I did reheat some of them after keeping them in the fridge for a couple of days. They reheat pretty quickly only a few seconds (10 seconds) in the microwave or 1 to 2 minutes in the oven.
Kim says
