See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Line a freezer-safe plate with parchment paper. Set aside
Cut the mozzarella string cheese sticks in half or if using a regular mozzarella block, cut them into 3-inch x ½-inch strips.
Set out 2 medium bowls, one with the beaten eggs and one with the grated parmesan, dried oregano, and almond flour mixed together.
Dip the mozzarella cheese sticks in the egg wash, then roll the sticks in the breading to coat. Repeat this process to make sure the mozzarella sticks are fully coated.
Place the sticks on the prepared plate and freeze for at least an hour or overnight for best results.
When frozen and ready, place the sticks into the Air Fryer rack. Don’t overfill your basket, the mozzarella sticks must not touch each other, so if your Air Fryer is small, do this process in batches.
Air fry for 7 to 10 minutes on 390ºF (198℃) turning them halfway through cooking time, carefully.
Sprinkle with parsley and serve immediately with low-carb marinara for dipping if desired.
Hint: Don’t overfill your air fryer basket, the mozzarella sticks must not touch each other, so if your Air Fryer is a small size, then fry them in small batches.
Variations
- Spices - Try using different spices like garlic powder for a different variety of flavors.
Equipment

Storage
Store any leftovers in a covered container in the freezer, and reheat in air fryer again to crisp.
Top tip
For the best results be sure freeze the prepared sticks in the freezer for a few hours to overnight before air frying.
