Keto Maple Cider Glazed Ham is simple to make and has a sweet and tangy glaze that will make any holiday or evening meal special.

A sweet glazed ham with zero net carbs per serving makes this main course a guilt-free option for any holiday or weeknight dinner.

I remember, as a child, we always had a glazed ham for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

We rarely had a turkey for the holidays. Turkey was more expensive and difficult to prepare, so my mom would skip it.

However, I prefer to mix things up for the holidays and prepare a turkey and a ham for Thanksgiving. Also because we usually have the most guests for Thanksgiving.

Traditional glazed ham is, unfortunately, full of sugar, syrups, orange juice, or other high-carb ingredients.

Fortunately, I found a way to make a   keto-friendly sweet glaze for the ham.

    Ingredients

    • 5 lb Ham, boneless, bone-in or spiral
    • 1 ⅔  cups Granulated Low-Carb Brown Sweetener
    • ½ cup Dijon Mustard
    • ¼ cup Butter
    • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
    • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cloves
    • ¼ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

See the printable recipe card for more details.

    Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC). Line a roasting pan with foil or parchment paper and place the ham over it. Roast for 20 minutes.

While the ham is roasting, add the low-carb brown sweetener, dijon mustard, butter, cider vinegar, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves to a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Bring to a gentle boil for 5 minutes to dissolve the sweetener. Stir and turn the heat down to the lowest setting.

After 20 minutes, remove the ham from the oven and pour ¼ of the glaze over with a large spoon to coat the ham.

Continue roasting the ham for an extra 1 hour and 15 minutes. Glaze the ham an extra 3 times using the remaining glaze throughout the cooking time. *See Notes for cooking larger-sized ham.

Once cooked, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.  Slice ham and add any remaining glaze to the ham and serve.

    Notes

Cooking times: The general rule for cooking ham is 15 to 18 minutes for each pound. So you can adjust the oven time according to your ham's total weight. Just add an extra 15 minutes in the oven for each extra pound of ham you are roasting.

    Substitutions

    • Paleo- To make this ham paleo-friendly, you can swap the low-carb brown sweetener for coconut sugar.

    Storage

Store any cooked glazed ham leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Leftover cooked ham can be frozen in a sealed freezer bag for 1 to 2 months.

We always have ham on Christmas so I made this as a trial run and it was so good! Thanks so much for the process shots and the tip about always baking ham 15-18 minutes per pound. So helpful!
