This tasty side or snack can easily be made in the air fryer or the oven if you don’t have an air fryer.
I made half of the batch in the oven and the other half in my Ninja Foodie Air Fryer/ Toaster Oven, which is my favorite air fryer because you can fit an entire batch of these fries in it.
For the other smaller air fryers, you may need to cook them in batches as they will not all fit at the same time
My son and husband were amazed at how crazy good these are. They were not expecting them to be so darn good. We dipped them in a little low carb Ranch dressing, and oh my, what an absolute treat!
You eat them without a dip or use low carb ketchup or sugar-free BBQ sauce.
These zucchini fries make the perfect accompaniment for lettuce-wrapped burgers. You will feel like you are having a healthy fast food meal but without all the carbs.

Hi Michelle, yes I used the basket with the insert.

I made these last night. Since there were only two of us I just used 1 zucchini but I used the full coating recipe. I used pork rind crumbs and the green can parmesan. I also patted the pieces dry before doing the egg dip. Don't know why that would work , after all the egg is wet, too, but they were crispy outside and tender inside. Excellent! My husband ate most of them. I made salmon patties to go with and since i had some costing left I dipped them in that also. A great dinner! Sending the recipe to my sister. I know they will like it also.

Thank you, Helen, for trying the recipe & sharing 🙂

I made this tonight. The flavor was great. I did have 2 issues. I ran out of coating 1/2 way through and they weren't crispy. BUT the flavor was fantastic. It's tough to get crispy zucchini even with panko so no biggie. I will make this again, just double the dip.
Brenna says
Super tasty! I also ran out of the coating - I should have read the previous. I used Pork Panko instead of almond flour and OMG. So good! I was going to dip into some leftover marinara, but I really don't need to bother! Thank you!!
Lisa says
Can I use regular flour salt nice I do not have almond flour?
Stacey says
Yes, Lisa, you can. It just won't be gluten-free or low carb.
Cassie says
These were so good I ate almost all of them. I Only did 2/3 of Zucchini, had to make more coating too. Found using pre-grated stuff in jar easier to coat with too.
Took about 8 min. In my airfryer oven, put on wire mesh rack.
Just a note, be sure to spray tray or rack you are using too. I will maker these again! LOVE THEM!
Stacey says
Thank you, Cassie, for trying the the recipe & for sharing your tips

I'm having a horrible time trying to get the breading to stick to the zucchini. Any tips?
Stacey says
Sometimes I dry the zucchini before dipping in the egg wash.
Jo Lynn says
These were delicious and so easy in my air fryer!
Stacey says
Thank you so much, Jo Lynn, for trying the recipe and for your very kind words.
LindaHudy says
Can I use coconut flour instead of almond? My husband is allergic to nuts.
Stacey says
Linda, I haven't tried it with coconut flour, but I'm thinking you could. It might taste a little sweeter using coconut flour. You could also use ground sunflower seeds as a replacement flour.
Katie says

Really nice, the Parmesan gives these a nice, sharp, slightly salty flavor. We had these as a side dish with some salmon.
Stacey says
Thank you, Irena, these are a favorite with my family!
