Corned Beef Spice Mix is perfect for seasoning corned beef when you don’t want to use the spice packet or want a healthier homemade solution.
Now you can make your own corned beef seasoning mix at home to have on hand year-round, so you make corned beef any time of year.
This spice mix has no preservatives, saltpeter, or other nasty additives.
You can use this spice mix in my Keto Slow Cooker Corned Beef Cabbage recipe to replace the spice packet that comes with the brisket roast.
Just use one tablespoon of this seasoning mix to replace the packet, and add it to your corned beef roast.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ tablespoons coriander seeds
- 2 teaspoons peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon anise seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large bay leaves, crushed
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions
In a hot cast iron skillet over medium heat, saute coriander seeds, peppercorns, anise seeds, and mustard seeds for 2 - 3 minutes, or until fragrant. Add the crushed bay leaves, salt, and red pepper flakes to the skillet and saute for 25 seconds more.
Add spices to a food processor or spice mill and pulse a couple of times just to release the flavors. Store the spice mix in an airtight jar or container in a cool dry area. Use the spice mix to replace the spice packet that comes with corned beef
Storage
Store the spice mix in a sealed glass jar or container in a cool dry place. Can be stored for up to a year.
